Although most of the summer has been a washout – or at least that’s how it feels lately – the weather for Helen & Ben’s wedding was nothing short of perfect. Blue skies, warm light and the perfect temperature.
I started the day with Helen and the girls as they got ready at home while Susie met up with Ben and his ushers at a pub near the church. As I arrived handmade bunting was being strung around the house and it was clear from the outset that an incredible amount of work had gone in to the preparations for the day. The flowers were absolutely stunning. I believe there were over 1000 roses used for the church, bouquets, button holes, seating plan, wedding cake, table settings and around West Stoke House. The attention to detail was phenomenal, with the rose theme being continued through to the table favours which were individual sized ‘taster tins’ of black tea infused with roses.
As for the venue, West Stoke House describes itself as “a huge white house with a warm heart… a house of simple pleasures and halcyon days. White linen and lying in, full English breakfast, freshly cut flowers, warm scented evenings, dinner for two.”
How fantastic does that sound! And it is. Furthermore West Stoke also have a 2009 Michelin Star so the food isn’t bad either :-) If you’re looking for an idyllic wedding venue, take Helen & Ben’s lead and visit West Stoke House.
