Silver and Gen’s wedding was always going to be a fun affair. Not only because they both have infectious personalities, but being my first Chinese wedding I was very much looking forward to experiencing an non-traditional English wedding.
The day started early with a series of challenges that the boys had to complete before Gen could briefly see Silver before church. The girls did a fantastic job of making sure the boys were well and truly embarrassed!
Silver then got in to her wedding dress (first of 3 outfits) before setting off to Manchester for the wedding ceremony. Following the ceremony and a *windy* photo shoot we then headed to the Glamourous Chinese Restuarant in Manchester for the reception along with 300 guests!
This part of the day included some of the more traditional Chinese ceremonies that I was looking forward to experiencing. These included tea ceremonies, fire crackers, table toasting, bride and groom games and dragon dancing – I love the image below of the dragon and the unimpressed guest. The food was also a key part of the celebration with a 14 course banquet which Julie and I had the pleasure of experiencing – we only managed 12 for the 14 courses.
It was a really fun day. Silver and Gen, thank you for allowing us to be part of your day. I hope the images bring you many years of enjoyment.
