Kew Gardens is another fantastic place for photos as there are so many different backdrops to use. Would you like a jungle location? No problem. Eastern Pagoda? Yep, got one of those too. There are literally thousands of places to take photos from the Temparate House, the Palm House, the Orangery and of course Kew Palace itself. I think a return visit is in order.

Steph runs her own florist business and along with Rob will be creating all of the wedding flower arrangements the day before. Expect the flowers to be nothing short of amazing! I get the feeling Steph and Rob will be raising the bar with regards to wedding flowers and attention to detail – although they should pay more attention when eating ice creams ;) (see last image below). Look out for their wedding images towards the end of September.

Wedding Details

Ceremony: Chelsea Register Office
Venue: Blue Print Cafe

I met Becky & Warwick outside Festival Hall to run through the details of their day – they are having a church ceremony followed by a marquee wedding in a similar fashion to when Julie and I got married. We then jumped on the river boat to take in some of the London sights and then headed to our final shoot location. Just check out the last two images below – how cool are those backgrounds! If you’re from London you may either know the place or you can probably work it out from the river boat route. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and at times the sun was so strong we had to seek shade for a little respite. Helen and Ben were simply fantastic in front of the camera and I can’t wait for their wedding at West Stoke House – it’s going to be an amazing day!

Ash and Chris live in London so we met up at Wimbledon Common for their pre-wedding shoot as it’s an area which means a lot to them. We had the sun on our side and although the common is a pretty busy place we found some great locations which were nice and quiet.

Below are a few of my favourites. Really looking forward to heading up to Edinburgh next month for their wedding.

We also spent some time wandering around Chelsea and along the Embankment where we used the iconic backdrop of London for some great images.

Jacky and Dave were so much fun to work with. Their wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond is going to be a blast.

We started the day in Marta’s Claridges suite and while the fantastic Eva and Nicola set to work with makeup and hair, we captured details and documentary images. Marta was incredibly relaxed and seemed quite happy enjoying the pampering while sipping a cup of tea.

It was great to be back in my home town and shooting a wedding in the heart of London. As you would expect Claridges is a fantastic venue and while Julie and I were with Marta, Mike (our third shooter on the day) was at the Little Brompton Oratory photographing the boys and guests.

The most stressful part of the day was getting through London while trying to navigate all the blocked roads due to a protest march. Fortunately our cabbie had the knowledge and the wedding car, which was a beautiful Mark V Jag (I think), stuck to us like glue through the busy traffic. Very impressive driving.
