Michelle & Matthew Pre-wedding Photos – Hoylandswaine, South Yorkshire

A couple of weeks back I decided to explore my village for possible portrait locations and I was pleasantly surprised with my findings – I guess you don’t notice them when you see them every day. So when Michelle told me that she was incredibly camera shy I thought it would be ideal to stay in our quiet village for her and Matthew’s pre-wedding shoot – I did however forget there was a cricket match on! :-)

Fortunately this wasn’t an issue and it was great to see Michelle relax and for their personalities to come out in the shoot. The last image in the series below is my favourite.

Helene & Matthew Pre-wedding Shoot – Cannon Hall, South Yorkshire

Later this year I’ll have the pleasure of photographing Helene & Matthew’s wedding at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. I’ve photographed at Chatsworth on a number of occasions and it’s an amazing place with so many choices for stunning photography.

For their pre-wedding shoot we went for a walk around the grounds of Cannon Hall in the brilliant sunshine.

Sarah & Scott Pre-wedding Photos – Ingbirchworth, South Yorkshire

Ingbirchworth reservoir in South Yorkshire is where Scott proposed to Sarah so it seemed like the perfect location to do the pre-wedding shoot. The shoot started at the reservoir itself and then progressed on to a pub, an old concrete shed, and then a windmill farm for good measure.

For the photographers out there, Stewart has been working on some new Lightroom presets for this year’s wedding season, some of which have been used on these images. These include…

HDR colour effect

Sarah & Graham Pre-wedding Photos – Liverpool

When Sarah and Graham contacted us and said they’d like to have their pre-wedding shoot in Liverpool at a couple of different locations which have special meaning to them, our immediate reaction was not a problem, just name the places. When we found out those locations were a cool independent cinema and art gallery and a bar with bags of character I could barely stop Stewart from grabbing his camera and jumping in the car there and then!

FACT is the cinema where Sarah and Graham had their second date and they still go there regularly, so when Sarah got the green light to have the shoot inside the cinema itself we were really excited. After a quick re-enactment of a couple of scenes from Casablanca (one of their favourite movies) it was on to Alma de Cuba for a few more photos.

Sarah and Graham’s wedding is at the fabulous West Tower in Ormskirk – it’s going to be a blast!

Rose & Chris Pre-wedding Shoot – Cawthorne, South Yorkshire

A rusty shed and a wooden hut. Stewart was in his element on this pre-wedding shoot.

Chris and Rose are getting married later this year in a beautiful old timber framed barn at Alpheton Hall in Suffolk. We’re really looking forward to shooting this wedding as Chris is part of my brother-in-law’s family and our 2 year old niece is going to be a flower girl. Better make sure the camera bag is stocked up with sweets then!

Julia & James Pre-wedding Photos – Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Julia and James are soon to be married at Hassop Hall in Derbyshire. I popped over to their house last Sunday morning for their pre-wedding shoot and took them somewhat by surprise as they’d completely forgotten about the clocks moving forward. Doh! Fortunately this gave me extra time to chat to James about his training for the Wetherby Triathlon at the end of May whilst Julia was getting ready. James is a bit of an endurance sports fanatic and is also preparing to compete in a half ironman challenge. I take my hat off to him, maximum respect!

Once we’d covered the triathlon and chatted about the wedding we headed out into nearby Millhouses Park in Sheffield for the shoot. It was lots of fun and I just couldn’t resist taking a shot or two of them against that wonderful blue sky :)

Sarah & Begna Pre-wedding Photos – Ellingham Hall & Newton-By-The-Sea, Northumberland

Begna is currently studying for his MBA at Berkeley in the US so when we found out he was planning to be over in the UK to see Sarah we leapt at the chance to get together and do the pre-wedding shoot.

Sarah and Begna are getting married later this year at the beautiful Ellingham Hall in Northumberland. We met at the venue and fortunately were blessed with some spring sunshine so we headed down to the beach in nearby Newton-by-the-Sea for the shoot. Can’t wait to get back there, such a great part of the world.

Ros & Kris Pre-wedding Photos – Wentworth Castle, Yorkshire

It rained. Actually, it didn’t just rain, it absolutely poured down. Fortunately Ros and Kris are the kind of couple who aren’t put off by a few drops of water. They were absolute stars and dived wholeheartedly into their pre-wedding shoot. Come rain or come shine, I know that in a few weeks time when Ros and Kris get married at Ripley Castle we’re going to have a great time!

Sandy & Mark Pre-wedding Photos – Holme Pierrepont Hall, Nottingham

Stewart and I really love Holme Pierrepont Hall in Nottingham as a wedding location. Sandy & Mark are getting married there in a few weeks time and after the initial pre-wedding shoot had to be postponed due to the snow, Sandy & Mark decided they’d like to do the shoot at their venue. Great decision as the sun shone and Sandy got the opportunity to wear her lovely Chinese wedding dress.
